Cork Blogger Dinner, March 2nd for Blogging Week 2008

Right so, Damien is very busy planning for this year’s Blog Awards. He’s dealing with all of the associated headaches and heartbreaks, so I’ve taken over organising the Cork Blogger dinner. The dinner will be on Sunday evening, March 2nd to coincide with the Webcamp/Blogtalk events happening in the city.

Any Cork-based bloggers, conference attendees or Paddy’s Valley people in about the city on March 2nd, are you interested? As a list of interested parties was compiled on Damien’s blog a long time ago, I’m ripping it up and starting again. It seems only fair.

If you would like come along, please leave a comment. I want to get numbers in by Friday at 6pm, so I can tie down a venue. If you are not in the numbers, then you won’t have a place at the table. Thems the rules.

Rossini’s is good. The last cork meetup (when Paul Walsh was around) was in Rossini’s. Luigi Malone’s (across from the opera house) might be good too - esp. if the numbers grow. Me personally - I wouldn’t mind a visit to WagaMama (too informal?) and then a retreat to the cosy little wine bar on Oliver Plunkett street - but that’s just me :-)

  14. Alexia Says:

@walter Thanks for the ideas. Rossini’s seems to be the top of people’s list, so I’ll try there first. If not, I might spring for some your suggestions.

  15. John Breslin Says:

  24. John Breslin Says:

How come? Do you want to fix the numbers? I’m sure a lot of BlogTalk attendees would like to come but they are just unaware - I can send an e-mail to ping them if you can still add more…

  25. Alexia Says:

Bloggers have also promo-ed this event and you added a link to this post on the BT site. So, word was on the street. I blogged and gave fair warning about the cutoff date. This dinner is only 3 weeks away. Those that wanted to sign up, have. I’m considering the list closed.

  26. Alexia Says:

I forgot to add, that if someone who has signed up can’t make it, I’m open to taking names on a waiting list. They can mail me at acgolez AT hotmail.com. I’ll post on this later.

I would have thought the more the merrier, but if you give details of the restaurant then at least others who didn’t get in to the list during that brief three-day window can still try and book tables.
