Jaiku - It’s All He Says, She Says
So, I’ve just about closed shop on Jaiku. Just like Damien, the instability of the site, feed overkill and sameness of the banter has strangled any love I held for the service. Things need to change.
Over time the service with Jaiku has gotten worse and worse with no new iterations at all. …. Anyway, I left this week as the service is really awful and there is no fresh blood and am sure many more feel the same.
Interestingly, Jyri Engeström, Jaiku’s guru responded to recent complaints about the service saying that:
.. we’re working on cleaning up the database to get the site back to its normal level of responsiveness. We should have everything sorted out soon; in the meantime, thanks for your patience.
Has the horse already bolted? I’m sick of getting 504 Gateway errors telling me that Jaiku is offline. Is it time for someone to build IsJaikuUp.com? That said, Twitter’s uptime was abysmal until just recently. Have the Twitter goblins escaped into the Jaiku farms?

This makes me so sad! First Dodgeball (which was the love of my life) and now Jaiku (there are others as well), both *really* good services which could have grown into awesome potential with all the other services they own. It’s such a shame.

@Martha: Yes, it’s awfully sad. Jaiku had a lot going fot it. I hope it isn’t consigned to the scrapheap.
