Wordpress Rush 2.3.2 Out Door, Twitter On the Ball
Wordpress has had to rush 2.3.2 out the door to fix a security hole that could allow an unscrupulous hacker access your future-timed posts. Wordpress is advising all Wordpress blog owners to upgrade to 2.3.2 as soon as possible.
Twitter is becoming ever my medium of choice for breaking news and as in its wont, Steve Rubel posted a tweet highlighting a Cybernet News post that identified the hack hole. As it stands, CNN proposed a temporary fix that didn’t work. However, that doesn’t matter now as 2.3.2 has been released.
That tweet was thirteen hours ago, build 2.3.2 was released just three hours ago. I’m sure that the news has been bubbling under for quiet a while. It just goes to show that breaking news on a broadcast messaging services like Twitter by well-subscribed voices can make a difference for news alerts. One wonders how many blogs have been hacked and posts revealed.

This is why I’ve decided to start using twitter again. It really is great for breaking news - Irish news too, for example, tracking Blacknight uptime over the holidays.

@James: Yeah, it’s a good old service. Uptime has been decent recently. Let’s hope they fix the missing tweet syndrome.
