A link for the Paddy’s Valley folk, Gridskipper has a pretty nice, if irreverent, guide of San Francisco. You web literate types probably have it bookmarked, but just in case.. Check it out. Lots of gems to be seen.

Anyone remember that Simpson’s episode where Fat Tony sells rat’s milk to the Elementary School. Heather Mills says she’d drink it.

I doubt rat milk extraction would be practical. :)
She is, of course, dead right about agribusiness being a big environmental problem. It’s a particularly difficult one to fix, too; while nuclear energy, battery advances and so on may allow us to deal with electricity and transport without much lifestyle adjustment, people are NOT going to go vegan just to reduce CO2 output. Of course, it’ll only get worse as the developed world expends…

I liked the headline.. Imagine the tiny dairy machines :P
True on agribusiness causing environmental problems - but as much as I hate it, properly developed GMO food sources would help. I don’t like the idea of scientists playing God, but as a technologist one has to consider all solutions. Of course, that gives one an idea of the monumental amount of work needed to produce safe food sources that are sustainable and environmentally sound. I wonder can science produce at least a part-solution to this quandry in our lifetimes..
