Update on Microsoft Office 2008 For Mac

I’m glad to read the latest news that the MacBU team are now in the ZBB (Zero Bug Bounce) phase of the Office 2008 for Mac project.

ZBB is a flat out period where the product is being tested continually where bugs that meet the justification threshold are triaged and fixed. The aim is cut product bugs more than a week old, and reduce the bug churn to zero. It’s also a sure sign that the Mac team are confident that the suite is market-worthy and that RTM is just around the corner.

As I’m considering a MacBook Pro as my next laptop, the news that Office 2008 is nearing RTM is exciting.

But why would you spend a wodge of cash on Office 2008 when iWork is like ?80?

Oh that’s right, you work for the Borg so you can get Office 2008 for like ?30 or something.

Still having gotten Office 2004 for Mac (for ?30) and used it a bit, I’d probably go for 2008 over iWork. But only for ?30.

    For everyone else, iWork.

Matt - you make me smile at times. :)
I’m looking forward to Office for Mac as it looks pretty sweet. Interested in seeing how Entourage works. I might splash out on iWork as well - just to compare and contrast.
